Our volunteers are happy to help you research your family tree or solve mysteries in your closet by using the records and compiled files of the Genealogical Library. The DCHS houses records of all kinds from land, probate, marriage, cemetery, and school records, to maps, and personal journals and church records from all over the county. The volunteers also compile newspaper records by family so that researchers can find related information more readily. Many of our volunteers have deep family roots in the county and can even draw on personal recollections and contacts to help you know more.

The museum is a collection of artifacts from all walks of life from Native American items discovered in the area to pioneer, farm, school, church, business and family items. The curators and volunteers rotate items occasionally to keep the displays fresh.
There is no fee to tour the museum although donations are accepted. You can tour on your own or a volunteer would be happy to take you, your family, club, or school group on a guided tour by appointment.
